Director, screenwriter, producer. Ignacio Castillo Cottin (born in Caracas, Venezuela on December 12, 1982) is a Venezuelan film director, screenwriter and producer. His first film La Virgen Negra (2008) starred Carmen Maura, Angélica Aragón, Matheus Nachtergaele and Carolina Torres. El Inca (2016), his second film, was Venezuela's entry to the 89th Academy Awards and is currently the only movie banned in the country. In the middle of the global pandemic, he premiered La Danubio (2020) in the digital platform of the Trasnocho Cultural, becoming the most viewed film of the year in Venezuela. Ignacio also has extensive experience directing commercials for important companies, obtaining national and international awards of recognition.
