The Ayoreo were (and still are) a group of hunter-gatherers and incipient nomadic farmers whose ancestors have inhabited the Chaco for thousands of years. Threatened by deforestation, since the 1950s and 1960s some families have decided to leave the jungle and settle in sedentary communities. They had forest to hunt and gather comfortably. The last group to leave the Mount, in 2004, was formed by several Ayoreo Totobiegosode families. With other Totobiegosode they founded ChaidÃ. The filming...
