Where is Mikel?

November 1985. Mikel Zabalza, a young bus driver, is arrested along with other people by the Civil Guard as part of an anti-terrorist operation. When the rest of the young people are released, they report having been savagely tortured. But Mikel is missing. Although the authorities allege that he has escaped, everything indicates that he did not survived the torment and they try to hide it. And while the hopes of finding him alive are fading, the streets of the Basque Country burn with a shout: "Where is Mikel?"

Amaia Merino

Co-director of the film, working and residing in Ecuador, a country that has specialized in edition and nonfiction screenplay. During the last fifteen years he has edited some of the most recognizable features films of the country: Blak Mama, Más allá del Mall, Resonancia, En Espera, El Pan Nuestro, 1809-1810 Mientras Llega el Día yAsier ETA biok (Asier and I) are some of these titles. Since 2006 teaches editing and screenplay tutorials at the Technological Institute of Film and Performance, INCINE.
