



War Starts Here
Joseba Sanz Arranz
The action of a firefighter in the Port of Bilbao, by refusing to participate in a shipment of weapons to massacre the population of Yemen, initiates a social movement that will unveil the dark interests and implications of this trade.

Tireless traveler and obsessed with telling stories, always from a social perspective, which led him with just 20 years to visit El Salvador during the civil war as well as the Cuba of the Special Period. He published a book about the Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez, which has reached 13 editions so far. (Silvio, memoria trovada de una revolución. Txalaparta Publishing House).
After studying Audiovisual, Sociology and Social Anthropology, he worked for some years in the Department of Political Science of the University of the Basque Country, where he made several short documentaries about participatory democracy processes. ("La Peña: Barrio de todos / as. Abusu: Denon auzoa." 19 ’) He has also collaborated in several Basque television production companies.
He made mountain ascents in numerous countries, including Cho Oyu (8,201 m.). He currently works as a trekking and tourism guide in different countries of Latin America and Asia, combining it with several audiovisual projects.
He belonged to the “insumisión” movement against military service in Spain and he is currently an antimilitarist activist. He joined the Commission "War starts here" within the Basque collective Ongi Etorri Errefuxiatuak (Welcome Refugees), from where he promoted the documentary "War starts here".
