Mingo
Carla, a 19-year-old student from the bourgeoisie in Marseille, is suffocating in the superficiality of her life. Determined to find a new balance, Carla leaves her privileged world to immerse herself in the lively neighborhoods of downtown Marseille. There, she meets a person who will change her life: Bagdad, a charismatic and captivating delinquent.
Mingo, whose real name is Mouayad Chanfi, is a true artistic multitool. He was born on 18 april 1999 in Marseille. Initially a model, it was during his BTS in management in 2019 that he tried his hand at theater, notably at the Beaux-Arts de Marseille. This is where his taste for comedy was born. He would later deepen his training and professional experiences. It was in 2021, during a meeting with the director and writer Mehdi Charef (Le Thé au harem d'Archimède, Cartouches Gauloises, La fille de Keltoum) at a masterclass, that Mingo considered the other side of the camera. He then embarked on writing a short film, True. For this film, Mingo draws inspiration from what he sees, what he knows, and what his city, Marseille, has taught him. He definitively leaves his studies to dedicate himself to cinema and accumulates internships, courses, and masterclasses offered by various Marseille-based associations and structures. It was Thibaud Meyrand and Thomas Andrieux who accompanied him for over a year in the development and writing of his screenplay, to then produce his film in the autumn of 2023.
