Vera, a private detective retired to the village where she grew up as shepherdess, and Pera, the know-it-all peasant of many esoteric skills, are some of the last remaining expert leaf-players in the country. Both in the autumns of their lives, they are still strongly blowing into leaves, producing amazingly unique music. Josip, an inventor of musical instruments, has set out to decode their obscure artistry and the result is 'Unplugged' - an existential allegory about music played on tree leaves, humorously rattling between the most primitive of instruments and the most universal escapism of music. Music has rarely been so offbeat.

After years of studying fiction film directing in Belgrade, London, and Cape Town, Mladen Kovacevic has wholeheartedly dedicated himself to documentaries. In just few years, he made several commissioned and thematic documentaries, and his debut documentary feature, the unpretentiously offbeat and highly acclaimed Unplugged, premiered in competition at Visions du Réel 2013; in competition at Hot Docs, also in selections of CPH:DOX, FIDMarseille, DOK Leipzig, Raindance, around 80 festivals so far, where it won 10 awards. Wall of Death, and All That (2016), his latest project, premiered in International competition at Visions du Réel 2016, and won Best Film and Best Camera at Beldocs 2016.
