Camilo Jiménez Varón
A group of friends are smoking marihuana in a car, when they are intercepted by a groupo of corrupt police officers who bully them to let them go.
He graduated in Philosophy in the National University of Colombia, with studies in dramaturgy and script in the film school of the same university. He began his career as a model; was a researcher and librettist, director and post producer of new television formats and reality shows for Caracol TV and Foxtelecolombia. He studied character construction and theatrical improvisation with the company La Maldita Vanidad and in 2011 he dedicated himself to being a professor of "Theory and practice of video edition" in the Cinema School of the National University of Colombia. He leaves Colombia to study cinematographic direction in Los Angeles at the end of 2011 (NYFA). He works after directing TV programs in Colombia for two years, taking care of formats for Fox Latin America Channels. He returns to Los Angeles in 2014 and is dedicated to performance, participating in theatrical plays such as "Much ado about nothing" of Shakespeare, for the East LA Theater Works and in MEDEA of Euripides. He starred in short films with US, Chinese, Spanish and Brazilian directors. In 2015, he created his play "TV or not TV" of which he is a writer, director and producer, being selected to participate in the XV Ibero-American Festival of Theater in Bogotá in 2016. At the same time he publishes his first short documentary "Mestizos Huicholes", made in northern Mexico and Utah. He also produced and directed his first short film " To Protect and Serve" in 2016. His point of view is generally critical and hyperrealistic, with special attention to working with actors and the interpretation of texts.
