After nearly a century of tradition, a cider-making family celebrates their one-hundredth harvest, marking a milestone in their legacy. "The Big Apple" chronicles the journey of cider from an Asturian village to cosmopolitan New York, uniting generations and cultures as the cider faces the challenges of an ever-changing world.
David de la Cruz Gutiérrez (Gijón, 1984). Born in Asturias, he began his career in the audiovisual industry in 2006, accumulating over 18 years of experience in the field. Throughout his trajectory, he has taken on various roles—photojournalist, editor and director—working for national broadcasters such as Atresmedia Group, Mediaset and Telefónica Movistar. In 2017 he founded his own production company, Plátano Studio, where he has directed advertising campaigns for major national brands and music videos with international artists. After several years devoted to advertising and television, David embarked on his debut feature, **The Big Apple**, a documentary shot between Asturias and New York that chronicles the journey of Asturian cider and reflects his passion for stories that connect the local with the global.
