That Guy from the Train

Everyday Sara comes across Tobias on the way to the museum where she works. One morning she accepts his invitation for a coffee. She does not expect it will be the first of several rendezvous that will affect her feelings in a deeper way.

After a completing a degree at the University of Buenos Aires, Sabanés went to Spain through a internship with Ibermedia Program. Since then, he has been working in both countries in cinema, TV and theater. His projects have received funding and support from institutions like Hubert Bals (Rotterdam), Sources 2 and Berlinale Talent Campus (Germany), Cinecittà-Luce (Italy), INCAA and San Luis Cine (Argentina), the Comunidad de Madrid, the ICAA and Casa de América (Spain). He was on the jury for Cinema Jove (Valencia) and for the ProImágenes program (Colombia). Sabanés has worked on direction teams in various formats of non-fiction and fiction for TV series like Cuéntame Cómo Pasó and Gran Hotel, among others. In theater he has directed two Rafael Spregelburd´s plays and three of his own plays. He also was a part of the company Adentro, which presented several plays throughout Spain. In 2018 he won the Imagina Madrid contest for artistic interventions in public spaces. He has parallelly taught classes at several cinema schools including EICTV (Cuba), ECAM and Factoría del Guión (Madrid), la Universidad Menéndez Pelayo (Santander), la ECCA (Colombia) and la Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina). For several years he has researched narrative structures, for example, combining several short stories by Julio Cortázar for his first feature film, and in his most recent shorts experimenting in modifying chronology.
