Romeo

Maria (15) and Kevin (17) have been a couple for three years. In the summer of 2020 she discovers that she is pregnant. Despite the contrary opinions of their respective families, they decide to go ahead with the pregnancy. On 8th April 2021 their son is born. Romeo is the name of the baby.

Sara G. Cortijo (Málaga, 1986). Graduate in Journalism from the University of Malaga. She also studied Textual Interpretation at the ESAD in Malaga. In February 2020, the book of the play was published. That same year she  created her first short film, Efecto halo, which she wrote, directed and acted in her first short documentary, La mujer salvaje (2021), was selected for the Los Angeles LA Independent Women Film Awards, the Madurai International Documentary & Short Film Festival (India), Blogos de Oro (Barcelona) and the Beeston Film Festival (Nottingham, UK). Her short film Romeo (2022) has been the winner of the Silver Biznaga for Best Malaga Documentary Short Film at the 2022 Malaga Film Festival; He has been selected in the Cabra (Córdoba) Audiovisual Contest 2022, where he has received the Canal Sur RTV award for Andalusian Audiovisual Creation; It has also been selected at the Mairena Film Festival (Sevilla) 2023, where it won the Best Short Film award, at the Ciudad Real Short Film Festival 2023, where it was awarded the Best Director award and at La Guarimba International Film Festival (Amantea, Italy) where it got “The Guarimberos” award. Likewise, the short film has been selected at Womentime, the II Canary Islands women's film festival, Dokuméntala (Vizcaya), at the Palencia International Film Festival, at the Corto Gijón Festival, at CinemaJove, at the Bajo la Luna International Film Festival (Islantilla, Huelva), at Corto Cortísimo - Miguelturra 2023 (Ciudad Real, España) and at Chicago Women Film Fest (Chicago, USA). In 2020 she was one of the winners of the PhotoEspaña contest Desde mi balcón.
