Pups

Based on the life of Javier García Roche, a boxer and owner of a junkyard, who helps young men of impoverished neighborhoods in Barcelona to overcome their struggles. An image of real courage: when you know you don’t have a chance, but you pursue your goal no matter what.

PUPS is Nuria’s first major documentary project as director. She launched her career as a journalist spending 10 years as news broadcaster, writer and screenwriter, and then moving to the advertising sector. She is a boxing lover and was an activist for civil rights in Spain in her early years. Fundamentally, she is interested in the concept of the modern day hero and telling their stories.
