In 2018, the naturalist and explorer Nacho Dean, decided to embark on the challenge of swimming around the world, linking the five continents to warn about the conservation of the oceans and document the state of marine ecosystems.
Since he was not a professional swimmer, he needed more than 2,500 kilometres of swimming training in order to conclude the Nemo Expedition, after 24 months, 5 crossings and 90 hours of recording.
Producer, director, writer, actor and TV presenter. He created one of the most successful television formats over the last two decades, Españoles en el mundo, produced and directed by himself in its first stage (2003-2004). With his production company Acca Media and his particular style, he has travelled around the world for 20 years showing experiences and telling life stories. His most outstanding productions include the feature documentaries Sueños de Haití (2011), Gurba, la condena (2014) –awarded in the XVIII Sahara International Film Festival (FiSahara)–, Rising Nepal (2016), El caos y el orden (2016) or El guion de tu vida (2020); the feature films Me llamo Gennet (2019) –Valores Humanos José Couso-Julio A. Parrado Award in the 24 Cine Fuentes Festival and Best Feature Film in the II Disability Film Festival, Gipuzkoa– and El secreto de Ibosim (2020); and the documentary series La Raya (2013, History Channel), Efecto ciudadano (2013, TVE), El Camino Interior (2021, Movistar and RTVE) or Generación Sliving (2023).
