MÚSICAS is a short documentary that follows Leticia Gallardo, the visionary director of Viento Florido, an all-women Indigenous band hailing from the mountainous region of Tlahuitoltepec. The film captures the profound connection between the women, their music, and the landscapes that inspire them.
Director, writer and producer from Mexico City. Her first film, La camarista, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2018 and won the Ariel Prize for Best Opera Prima. Tótem, her most recent film, premiered at the Berlinale 2023, was awarded Best Film at the Morelia International Film Festival and on the same year represented Mexico for the 96th edition of Oscars.
