Masters of the Sky is a documentary that follows the tale of veteran pigeon fighters in a close knit neighborhood of Karachi called Jamshed Road. The story unravels an ancient sport that is preserved and passed down from generation to generation in a growing urban landscape.
Seraj us Salikin is a filmmaker from Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his bachelors in media studies from SZABIST in 2014 and has been working as assistant in the TVC industry of Pakistan. His short documentary ‘ Masters of the Sky’ was officially selected in the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner 2014 and has won awards in all major local film festivals. The documentary was screened in PIFF Toronto Film Festival and Alpavirama Film Festival in India. Seraj has made numerous award winning short films and has worked on a commercial feature film, ‘Ho Mann Jahaan’ as 2nd Assistant director. Seraj has assisted in TVCs of Coca Cola, Clear, Disprin, Pakistan Idol, Dettol etc. He has directed and worked on corporate films/telefilms for brands like Unilever, Cedar College, Geo Entertainment and Themis School of Law
