Samuel is 10 years old and is madly in love with Lucia. Lucía is 12 years old and has a master plan to get rid of, after her father´s mysterious death in a car crash, the only obstacle in her life preventing her from becoming what she desires: a writer, film critic and rich.
Director
He studied in The Los Angeles Film School (Direction and Film Writing) and afterwards was, for years, Pedro Almodovar´s personal assistant. Currently he is Penelope Cruz´s European publicist. He´s also worked with Isabel Coixet and other Spanish filmmakers.
Javier Giner is a storyteller, filmmaker, fat in winter, thin in summer and a very loyal friend. He has published a novel, El dedo en el corazón (Atico Ediciones), and several short stories. He has also made two short films (Night Flowers and Save Me, both of which won the Short Film of the Month award in Filmin.es) and has set up a small production company ACTUS Producciones. Je just recently premiered his short Door to door in the Spanish public television, which has become a viral phenomenom. He also collaborates on a multitude of cultural publications writing about film.
He fakes a very good surprised reaction if you recognize him and ask for an autograph, even if you ask him for his Facebook or his phone number. Unless you look like a psychopath on the run he’ll probably give them to you. If you look like a public danger, as well as giving them to you, he’ll try to buy you a coffee so you can tell him your problems. He is passionate about cinema, books, music, roads, conversations, emotions, red tea, vulnerability as armor, Nutella, sunglasses, knowing his limitations, talking to his family, dramatic lesbian singer-?songwriters with guitars, putting his foot in it, the lumpen, feeling ridiculous, feeling sure of himself by airing his insecurities, and smoking two cigarettes one after another on terraces. Also tears, broken dolls, pubic hair, dusk, unanswered questions, mental patients, paella with alioli, having his hair ruffled, and reading the newspaper.
He always has his head elsewhere, scheming and inventing stories and slaving away on all kinds of projects, some extremely interesting and others unbelievably ridiculous.
He lives with passion, in the same way he writes. He can’t do it any other way, nor does he want to.
