Jazz Project
Diego Soffici
Jazz Project is a musical documentary that addresses jazz in Santa Fe, Argentina, from a request made to musician Pedro Casís. In his journey, he interacts with friends, current and former students, trying to assemble the different generations as important pieces of the film project.
Director
Diego Soffici. He made his debut as a film director with the short film Traspaso, made in Super 8 and produced by Grupo de Cine de Santa Fe (1990), with which he participated at the festivals of Venice and Trieste, among others. El Enroque (1999), made in 35 mm, was his thesis for the Fondo National de las Artes. He made a forray into the video minute with Diaf 5.6 (2005) and in 35 mm feature filmmaking with Gerente en dos ciudades (2003), the first film from the Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales filmed in the cities of Santa Fe and Paraná.
He wrote and directed the episode Aquella Noche from the feature film Ciudad de Sombras (2010), as well as the full-length documentary film El Sabalé about the Club Atlético Colón de Santa Fe and the documentary Tanicu (2014).
He has worked on various campaigns as director of advertising and institutional pieces. He has worked on the design of different formats for TV and led the program El Rectángulo Obtuso for filmmaking from Santa Fe and is currently presenting films from around the world on El Cine que no se ve.
