I Hope for Heaven

In the maximum security prison of Opera, three inmates responsible for murders, Ciro, Giuseppe and Cristiano, were chosen to handcraft, with their hands once stained with blood, hosts which are consecrated in churches all over the world, thus becoming the body of Christ. Their dream is to deliver them personally into the blessed hands of the Holy Father Pope Francis, to whom they write a letter. A true story unprecedented in the world.

Daniele Pignatelli is a renowned filmmaker with global installations and numerous awards. Highlights include “Menzione speciale della Giuria Aiace” at the 53rd Venice Film Festival for “Beloved Fools” and the Kodak European Award at Cannes for “Third° & World.” In 2013, he earned a merit certificate at the Rochester International Film Festival. In 2014, he showcased his film “MARE1” at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. His 2020 short film “Nuovo Cinema Para-Virus” won various awards across 120 festivals. His recent feature, “I Hope for Heaven,” has won Best Social Feature Film and Best Screenplay at multiple festivals.
