Circulating currents

Circulating currents

Mikel Alvariño
There are circulating currents flowing between us. Even if we can't see them, they're still there. Joining us together. Tearing us apart. Love is one of those currents.
Mikel Alvariño studies Film Direction in Septima Ars Visual Art School in Madrid. There he meets Eugenio Mira, and develops several projects with him. In 2004, this work partnership arrives to the silver screen with the long feature film The Birthday, starring Corey Feldman. Selected in the most important fantastic film festivals in the world, The Birthday is awarded, among others, in the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival and the Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX. In 2005, shoots his first short film, Corrientes circulares (Circulating currents), awarded in near 30 national and international film festivals, and released in many festivals along the five continents. He also directs the shortfilms Algo está pasando and Ernesto y Amigo (una fábula sinfónica), and he writes the shortfilm McGuffin directed by Juanma Pachon.
