More than 50 years of armed conflict among the FARC, the ELN, paramilitary groups and the Colombian government have left behind eight million victims. During this time, thousands of minors have been part of the armed groups. They are also consider victims because their childhood is always going to be linked to a weapon; the jungle was their home and the battalion, their family.
He has directed and scripted documentaries, short films and television programs in India, Lapland, Sierra Leone, Algeria, Mongolia, Ethiopia, Venezuela, Peru, Cuba, Bolivia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Switzerland, New Caledonia, Navarra, Basque Country, and has also been the director of photography on all of them. Some of his most notable work includes Janavak, a road movie with Indian actors in the Basque Country, Distrito cinco, survivor stories from a neighborhood in Bilbao called San Francisco, Volar, a visual metaphor about freedom featuring birds, and 373 años de son, a profile of the members of the Cuban band Vieja Trova Santiaguera. His work has been broadcast on TVE, ETB, Telecinco, Canal +, Sol Música, Telesur ... These stories include footage of such artists as Compay Segundo, Jorge Oteiza, Vieja Trova Santiaguera, Chucho and Bebo Valdés, Rosana, José Mercé, Peret, Barricada, Andrés Calamaro, Macaco ... In 2010 he directed the photography on the documentary feature film Pure Life, a film about a climber from Navarra, Iñaki Ochoa de Olza, produced by Arena Comunicación and Txalap.Art. He is currently directing the feature film Un día más con la vida, with development support from the INAAC Foundation, the Basque Government, ICAA, MEDIA and the Polish Film Institute. This film, which combines 3D animation with documentary footage, is a co-production with Platige Image, a Polish postproduction studio that was nominated for an Oscar for The Cathedral. Based on the book of the same title by Ryszard Kapuscinski, it chronicles the experiences of the Polish reporter in Angola in 1975, days before its independence.
