Can’t say goodbye

Carla gets a call from her sister: her father, to whom she hasn’t spoken for some time, is ill. That same day, Carla takes a flight to Almeria, her home town. There, the doctors give her father a few months of life. She refuses to accept this and, against everyone’s opinion, decides to take him to Barcelona for treatment. The two of them set out on a journey to escape a reality that neither dares to face. And it will be on that escape that they end up finding themselves and can say finally goodbye.

Director, Screenwriter. While studying Business Studies at the University of Madrid, and thanks to a number of Film and Video courses, Lino discovered his new career path . On completing his economic studies, he moved to New York, where he took Film studies at NYU, followed by Directing and Screenwriting courses at the School of Film and Television at San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba). After three years living in New York, Lino returned to Spain to direct and produce his first short film, Space 2. In 2001 he moved to Barcelona in where he started to work as Assistant Director on commercials meanwhile he studies Acting and Directing Actors with Argentinean teacher Fernando Piernas. During this time, Lino directed his second short film Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner,Bed, produced by the catalonian production company Leading Edge. The short film was released at the Malaga Spanish Film Festival 2003 and received in several international festivals including Uppsala Film Festival (Sweden), Alcalá de Henares Film Festival and Gijón International Film Festival. What Elena Wants received over twenty awards, including Best Short Film at Caja Madrid Short Film Festival, Best Short Film Critics Award at Alicante Film Festival, Best Photography and Best Actress, for Marta Belenguer, at Almería Short Film Festival, Best Actor for Víctor Clavijo at Versión Española Short Film Festival and Best Direction award at Cinemajove International Film Festival. By that time Lino started to work as a director both in TV series and commercials. As a commercials director, Lino specializes in acting and storytelling, but he also shoots commercials involving motion graphics and post-production.
