[B]ELLAS

A visual symphony conducted by 8 elder women  who reflect on different topics concerning the conception of their own bodies inside a patriarchal system that constantly attempts to posses them. In between documentary and video arte, [B]ELLAS successfully breaks the stereotype that conceives ageing women as vulnerable, dependent and pleasing beings through a vindication of their experience, bodies, capacities, wrinkles and beauty.

Clara Rodríguez Arasanz

Clara Rodríguez Arasanz (31.12.1987) spent the past nine years working as a director, solo filmmaker, camera operator and camera assistant in Berlin, Hanoi and Barcelona. Among her most prominent works are Motherhood in the World of Ballet, [B]ELLAS, winner of the Young Filmmakers Prize by La Bonne Maison and Barcelona City Hall and G3G Rècords: Poder mirar als ulls, selected at the In-Edit International Film Festival.

Laia Suru Valverde

Laia Suru Valverde (20.10.1996) worked with directors such as Jordi Boquet (Ni oblit, ni perdó). Her most noted projects include her debut as a director with documentary [B]ELLAS and the series (Im)Perfectas, which she wrote and created. Apart from that, she collaborated in several short documentaries of renowned ESCAC (Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia), mainly in the position of DIT.
