Asier and I grew up in the Basque Country. One day he disappeared and I found out he had joined ETA. How could I explain the reasons that led Asier to make a decision, which even I had trouble grasping?

Aitor Merino

Spain, 1972 Aitor Merino has developed his career mainly as a film, theatre and television actor. His first short film as a director, EL PAN NUESTRO, was awarded in numerous national and international festivals and nominated for the Goya Awards. His feature-length documentary ASIER ETA BIOK (ASIER AND ME), co-directed with his sister Amaia Merino, was awarded, among others, with the Irizar Award at the San Sebastian International Film Festival

Amaia Merino

Co-director of the film, working and residing in Ecuador, a country that has specialized in edition and nonfiction screenplay. During the last fifteen years he has edited some of the most recognizable features films of the country: Blak Mama, Más allá del Mall, Resonancia, En Espera, El Pan Nuestro, 1809-1810 Mientras Llega el Día yAsier ETA biok (Asier and I) are some of these titles. Since 2006 teaches editing and screenplay tutorials at the Technological Institute of Film and Performance, INCINE.
