Spain
Hugo De la Riva was born in Alcázar de San Juan (Spain) in 1983. Since he was a child, he showed great interest in storytelling and visual arts. For this reason, after he finished high school he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Antonio López School. During that period, while he was working on his drawings and sculptures, he found cinema to be a way of blending all his artistic concerns as a means to express his emotions. It was then that he decided to get a Higher Technical Certificate in Image from the Puerta Bonita School in Madrid. From then on, he began doing audiovisual productions: commercials, TV shows and short films. Thanks to some of his short films like “Blondi” or “Campeón”, Hugo has won several awards:
4 FECICAM awards (Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Short Film, Audience Award),
3 PÁVEZ awards (Best Screenplay, Best Short Film, Audience Award),
1 Best Short Film Award in Nueva Olas International Film Festival,
2 Audience Awards in the International Film Festivals of Consuegra and Mal del Cal International Film Festival,
