In the late 70's, Yan María Castro founded the first lesbian-feminist group in Mexico. Within a climate of discrimination and repression, Yan María and her group organized a political movement to win their place in society.
Tania Claudia Castillo was born in Mexico City on March 13, 1989. She studied at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, where she specialized in Film Direction. She studied Cinematographic Script at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. The short film “Primavera” written and directed by Tania Claudia Castillo was selected as one of the twenty best Mexican short films of 2015 by the Shorts México film festival and has participated in more than 20 film festivals around Mexico and the world. Founder and active member of the Frente Autónomo Audiovisual / Imáenes en Rebeldía collective, where she works as director and editor of various audiovisual works and documentary short films.
