Arantxa Echevarría has worked in the audiovisual industry as a director, scriptwriter and producer since 1991. As director, her first short film was Panchito a social comedy with non-professional actors, which received, among others, the Telemadrid prize. After that she directed Don Enrique de Guzmán a historical film based on a true history during the reign of Felipe II. Her third short film was De noche y de pronto, nominated in his 28th edition for Best short fiction at the Goya awards. The short film Yo Presidenta received the prestigious prize of the best project of the Festival of Medina del Campo and is preselected by the Spanish cinema academy for the Goya awards this year.
For TVE she directed Cuestión de pelotas a Documentos TV about women footballers who were hired as cleaners or directly received their salary in black. The issuance of this documentary forced the Federation to make them professional . Among her latest works is the documentary shortfilm about Autism El solista de orquesta and her last short film was this year El último bus premiered at the Festival of Medina del Campo.
In 2015 She co-wrote the screenplay for the feature film El resto de mi vida with Martin Costa, its director. Currently, She is in pre-production of her first feature film Carmen y Lola finalist script of the Julio Alejandro prize of the SGAE 2016. Arantxa Echevarría studied Ciencias de la imagen at the University of Madrid, specializing in Audiovisual Realization at the CMA of the same university and film production at Sidney Community College in Sydney, Australia.
